A family with a passion for orchids
We have been growing orchids for more than 25 years. Today we share that passion from our nursery in Fernão Ferro, Portugal, with collectors, plant lovers and anyone looking for a special gift, across Portugal and Europe.
By orchid lovers, for orchid lovers.
Tropical Orchids Portugal is a family business. It grew out of a long-standing love of orchids and more than two decades of learning from them: watching the roots, understanding the light each genus needs, waiting for the right bloom.
We believe in offering outstanding plants and service while growing sustainably. Every orchid that leaves our nursery is chosen, cared for and packed by hand, so it reaches your home healthy.
Whether you are an experienced collector or just starting out, we are here to help you bring the beauty of orchids into your home or garden.
A greenhouse designed for every genus.
Our plants grow in a modern greenhouse, with climate control and lighting systems that let us give each genus the conditions it needs all year round.
We want the beauty of orchids to come at a low cost to the planet. That is why our growing relies on practices that reduce our environmental impact:
- Renewable energySolar panels that reduce our carbon footprint.
- Water reuseTo minimise waste when watering.
- Trusted suppliersWho grow to our quality and sustainability standards.
From classic to rare.
A wide selection of tropical orchids, including rare and exclusive orchids that are hard to find elsewhere. Plus bromeliads, foliage plants and everything you need to care for them well: quality pots, substrates and fertilisers.
Beauty and sustainability go hand in hand.
That commitment is part of our everyday growing and of how we choose the plants and partners we work with.
A passion for orchids brings together people from different backgrounds and cultures.
So we give every customer friendly, personal service: we help you choose the right orchid and stay with you afterwards, with growing advice, so you can enjoy your plants for many years.
We keep improving how we grow and how we serve you, so that this passion shows in every detail of our work.
